Our family jewels could be subject to pathologies, inflammations and tumors.

Even in this case it is important to take preventive measures: regular check-ups and if necessary, contact your GP, urologist or andrologist.

But how many of us do this?

Few people know this and even fewer do it.

It is normal for women to have an annual check-up of their genital areas or simply start seeing the gynecologist at a young age.

For men, very often, the first visit to the urologist is for pathologies and inflammations or because " it doesn't rise anymore ". So they start going to the urologist when their hair is already white.

But how can we correctly palpate the testicles and notice any problems?

Self-examination of the testicles is very simple:

the ideal moment is after a shower or a hot bath: in this way the tissues will be more relaxed and it will be easier to identify any alterations:

1) First of all, you need to stand in front of a mirror and check that there are no new asymmetries, wrinkles in the skin or new veins;

2) Use both hands for palpation;

3) Place your index and middle fingers behind the testicle and place your thumbs on the front, then explore the entire surface of the testicle by sliding your fingers with gentle movements;

4) There should be no pain and the testicle should feel smooth and firm. If you feel hard or soft swellings above the testicle, if you notice a loss of volume in the testicle, if you feel a feeling of heaviness in the scrotum or if something has changed, it is advisable to have a check-up .
